Why We Use Impulses
Share
One way to think about impulses is each time you ask yourself to accept the load it pulls on the tissues that are keeping your joints in place
Like it’s a reflexive ask for everything in that joint to contract to keep it where it needs to be
So then one of the effects we get from the impulses is to be able to take and strengthen all the tissue in and around your joints that help to keep it attached
It’s why i think about these as being able to create bounce, particularly in the upper half
Create tight and dense and “ready to grab” tissue that can rebound because there is no need for the body to have to protect cause it’s working with strong and well built fibers around each joint so it can hold that in place and they can be used in a sequence to generate output
Whether a throw, a spike, a serve, etc etc
Tissues locked in so when you go to execute those moves, each of the joints can properly grab and then propel without needing to break or slow down cause we’ve prepared it
