What To Do If You're Having Trouble Recovering As An Athlete

What To Do If You're Having Trouble Recovering As An Athlete

So the very base principle of recovery, I think, is greatly misunderstood. And what I mean by that is we look at recovery as after the fact, right? After you throw, after you sprint, after the game, after the performance. We're trying to do something to make you feel better, right?

The issue is in that case or in that scenario, the game, the performance, the thing that causes the stress has already happened. The best way to actually recover is to prepare yourself beforehand. To be so prepared before the performance, before the game, before the throw, before the sprint.

Be so prepared before that happens that the actual game, the performance, the sprint, the throw, doesn't actually cause a level, level of stress that would cause you to need to recover or that would cause you to feel sensation from that thing, right?

So recovery, you can think about as being on the front end. Be so prepared on the front end that on the back end, and there's actually, the recovery that needs to happen is from the training. And you train yourself to recover from the training, but the recovery doesn't have to happen from the performance because of the level of preparation that you've done in your training. So it's out in head, it's not back behind.
