What It Actually Takes

What It Actually Takes

August 25, 2025

So a practical exercise that I would do is looking at what are all the different areas that you can have an effect on in your life as it relates to your performance and how good you can get all of those.

Instead of asking, like, how good can my food be, but I have to make a compensation in my training for it, or I have to train really well, but I can't do the food as well, or the supplements, or the sleep or the whatever like make a list literally of everything that you can have an effect over whether it's your training, it's the way that you eat, it's the supplements that you have, it's the people that are around you, it's the conversations that you're having, it's the coaching that you have, it's the thoughts that you have, it's the emotions that you feel, or the knowledge that you have around what you're doing. All these different areas.

The goal is to get every single one of those areas on this line, right? If you picture your intent and what you want to get, the performance that you want to have, the training that you want to be able to do, if you picture that as a line, look at anything that's pulling off of that as frays off that line and handle those frays so that you have all aspects, right? Not just one or two, but all aspects moving cleanly forward on that line.
