Training is not an exercise. Wait, like actually read and get that. Training. Is not. An exercise.
A bench press is not training. A squat is not training. A jump or sprint is not training.
Going to do a workout… is not training.
Again:
Going to do a workout… is not training.
TRAINING
Is asking yourself to do something you currently cannot do for the betterment or improvement of your ability to handle and synthesize stimulus REGARDLESS OF WHAT THAT STIMULUS IS
So lets make that actually real
If you go to the gym and you do the same series of exercises for 12 weeks in a row with minimal variation and minimal changes
You become those exercises.
I mean not literally, but i think you get what I’m saying
Like if you view a strict benchpress as the only pressing exercise. Then any other pressing activity will not look like training to you because “it’s not bench”
But look guys, that was made up to start with, do you understand? Like benchpress was made up as a sport man.
It is NOT the only thing you can do for training. And I’m picking on bench, but this goes for all the “normal” lifts. Like if you can see the stimulus instead of the lift, then you’ll see the difference here between becoming a bench and just getting really good at pressing, through a whole variety of factors
And as it relates to sport
THAT’S WHAT WE WANT
Get really good at controlling and using and manipulating your body, thoughts, and emotions THROUGH what we do in training. Like THAT is what we’re training…
So you can take THAT with you and enter into your sport and USE it
Vs being like oh i bench and then i play sport
