Train For The Extremes, Prepared For The Middle
Share
Movement is simply going from one position to another
And in order to coordinate your movement you need to have set positions
Start and end positions for a given “cycle”
So that movement can happen between those two positions to get the cycle completed
Being aware of every single point you move through (in the cycle) does not work because of how fast it happens
You need START and END positions
And that’s why position is the basis of movement
——————
Practical application - when throwing for example you cannot put full attention on every single point you go through because of how fast it is
What you do is get certain positions - maybe front foot down is a position for you, and then finish is a position for you
Or if sprinting - one position is left leg max knee flexion, next position is right leg max knee flexion, and you’re simply cycling through those
See what I’m saying
We work with positions
Cause movement happens so fast
That we just focus on switching from position to position and the middle gets filled in based on the two positions we’re working with
Which is why being able to pack into good and clean and efficient positions is so valuable
Gives you a clear start and end point
Making movement (in the middle) more efficient
