Stuck In Workload Management?

Stuck In Workload Management?

August 16, 2025

When we're talking about developing speed, instead of looking at the stat where you have four to five times of your body weight on one leg when you land in a sprint and looking at that as being something that is extremely stressful and something that you have to manage load around, instead of looking at it with that perspective, we can look at it as, okay, these are the actual physical forces that are taking place during a sprint.

Now let's actually prepare you to be able to handle more than that, or at least that much on one leg over and over and over and over so that your body actually feels light in a sprint, right? So it's the alternate look at it.

It's not looking at it as like this is extremely stressful, it's looking at it as if this is what's necessary for us to perform a high-level sprint.

Let's actually prepare ourselves for that. And that means that your training might look a little different. You're doing a lot. It might mean that you're loading up a ton of weight on one leg, or you're doing a drop from a very high height on one leg, whatever it is like and it doesn't have to be one leg, it can be multiple legs, but it might mean that your training looks a little different but what we want to do is when we hear that stat, instead of regressing and being like, oh, we need to manage around that, instead of doing that we need to be like, no, we need to prepare for that and then put together our training accordingly.
