Start Stop Work And Jumping Higher

So here’s the thought process
Being able to take the brakes off in terms of knowing you can land in a depth drop and absorb the force from a high height is discussed heavily in improving jump ability - training us to take off inhibitors getting in the way
And i love those, as evidenced by how much of em i do
But then started considering this
What if we trained ourselves to accelerate and then stop right before even leaving the ground/producing the ballistic part of the output?
Like we trained ourselves to know that we can stop if we need to before the actual output happens
Original idea came from the quick style reps that I’ve heard Adam Archuleta talk about doing with Jay Schroeder on a feed the cats podcast (with Dan Fichter)
And so i started experimenting with em and that’s what i started to feel
That when i could train myself to accelerate as fast as possible, but then slam on the brakes as fast as possible before the actual output happened, the output then felt so so much easier and more free when i actually allowed myself to accelerate through
Like i didn’t have to slow myself down to inhibit or protect at all because i knew i could do it if i had to
So then practically with the start/stop squat stands in the last part of the video above, the thought process was
Accelerate as fast as possible, but with zero wasted motion or momentum - literally feel like the only thing that is accelerating me is the tissue that is acting on my joints, like feel that sliding underneath my skin to accelerate me
And then stop right before i start to feel that extension piece into the takeoff start to occur
And not a sloppy stop, but just a very simple, clean, STOP
And there are some that doesn’t happen, but when it does man, haven’t really felt that type of control before
So anyway, maybe it’s BS maybe it’s not
Fair game if you think it is lol
But that’s been my experience so far - has legit seemed to help that output, and jumping today felt pretty good lol

Did 500 of the squat start/stops - 4x100 and 2x50 at the start and end - oddly enough never really fatigued in em
