Pain Is A Clue


In this internally rotated position, where i was like throwing my arm forward a bit, had a substantial amount of what you could call pain or discomfort

Weakness too maybe

Just like something that popped up where i was like oh what’s that

But straight up man like I realized something during it

When i feel things like that there is absolutely zero parts of my mind that go to something must be wrong

And because that’s my genuine reality - like genuinely when i feel something like that I’m just like oh yeah, lets go into it - i don’t think i realize that’s NOT what most people experience 

But thats actually what happens for me. I get quiet in other places, all the attention goes there, I’m feeling that as fully as i know how and it’s like by putting force into it i can handle whatever is wrong there

So it just made me think of how do you handle what comes up when you’re training

How do you handle what comes up when you’re competing

Cause really really think about it

I don’t know if there is any reality where you never experience any type of uncomfortable sensation, whether that’s in a training session or a performance

So if you really think about that - if you’re relating all sensation or feedback you feel to something that’s bad - like if you’d felt what i felt today and been like ah man gotta get the shoulder checked out

Like that’s a trend thats gonna be your whole life, cause man we’re not going through ANYTHING where you feel NOTHING

YOU’RE GOING TO FEEL BAD

Go into it. Use it. It is showing you what needs work. Not what’s wrong. Just what needs work. Level it up
