Nuances Of Training With Intent
Share
When training it’s possible to move in a way in which actually avoids those areas that you need to hit most
If we take the deficit RDL’s for example
I was putting an emphasis on as straight of a leg as i possibly could
Provided a significantly greater amount of sensation and difficulty - like when i was getting into that deep deep hammy, was something i hadn’t done in a really long time
Could have easily done 10 degrees less, pulled a ton more weight, and would look relatively the same
But then that deeper tissue would not have been hit
It’s same with the reverse lateral glute ham - the last video in the above video sequence
I could get in a similar position, but really tighten up everything in the torso and hip and wouldn’t really feel that much sensation
But instead the intent was to actually allow or get movement into those areas
Which required me to have to actually relax and breath into those - to purposefully do that, to purposefully experience more sensation
Or what you might call, more life

That’s one way to “train with intent”
