If you feel like the volume of your sport is too high and won't actually allow you to have a high volume of training, that means, on the front end, the volume of training has not been high enough to prepare you for the performance or for the sport.
And the reason that this is important is that, if we think about the volume of your sport, we're not able to control the sport right?
And so, you have to do whatever it is that you have to do in your sport. And so that is the thing that we want to be prepared for, because if we're not prepared for that thing, that is the thing that we cannot control
Like if you have to go pitch or you have to go play to get a contract, you have to do that. You don't have an option. So we don't want that to be the most stressful thing that you do. We want the preparation to be the most stressful thing that you do, so that when you go to do your performance, it doesn't actually damage you. It doesn't cause issues.
So when we're looking at is the volume and making sure that the training or the preparation is greater than your actual sport or performance. I understand that that may be difficult, that may be hard, especially if you play a sport that has a lot of volume.
So it's important to get to the point of the training being more volume, being more than your sport, because that is what will allow you to actually continue to play your sport without that thing tearing you down.
Like, it's 100% going to take more effort on the front end. It's going to take a lot of work. It's going to take a lot of time. It's going to take a lot of intention. It's going to take a lot of effort on the front end to get to the point where that training, where that preparation, is greater than your sport. But doing that will then allow you to go perform in your sport whenever you want and however you want, after that level has been reached, and as that continues to grow.
