Improving Scap Function In Throwers

Improving Scap Function In Throwers

Hot take your scaps don’t work because you don’t do enough with them

The 1000 throws you make per week makes the 75 scap protractions you do seem like a fly on a 1000 foot tall mound of cow poop

Know what I’m saying

Like you’re fine with throwing and your arm not feeling perfect cause it’s your sport and it’s just normal

But then you’re not fine with having to burn through 45 minutes of scap holds cause well who wants to actually do that

Hear me out tho

There is a level you can get to where even if or when your body is feeling awful it actually still operates really well

Like if you can take yourself through an absolutely insane level of stimulus and STILL HOLD POSITION despite the burning, the want to stop, the sun, the text you need to answer, the the buddy that’s pissing you off

Like whatever

If you can take and still hold through that

Your body will literally learn

ohhhhhhhh this is what you want me to do

And then it’s like impossible to get OUT of that position

Like you’d have to try really hard to get into a bad position… when you’ve trained yourself to be in good position

I don’t know, i just think a lot of the movement and mechanical issues that athletes have, whether that’s throwers or someone else, is simply because their physiology is not trained to the point it can get into those positions regardless of circumstance

Could be wrong. But things felt pretty locked in after this
