How To Use Impulses In Your Training

First ask yourself what effect you want it to have on you - for real, before you start the impulse - “what effect do i want this to have on me”

And then you can create that effect on you

Meaning

If you’re doing impulses and feeling like you’re getting beat the hell down. Like the impact is too much, like it’s too many reps, like you don’t have time, etc etc etc

It can turn into just get it done by any means necessary and i don’t really care about my response to them because i got the reps in

But realize

When you do that

The effect that’s created on you will be exactly that

But if you can stay above that, and actively ask yourself the question

Then you do not fall into the hole of unconsciousness, walking around not really aware of what you’re doing, just getting stuff done cause it’s on the piece of paper in front of you

Like how do you actually want your elbow to feel?

How do you actually want your shoulder to feel?

How do you actually want your body to feel?

Do you know?

For real: do you know?

How do you want them to feel?

Not “i don’t want them to feel ‘X’ way”

But how do you actually want them to feel???

Ask, see if you know.

Cannot create what you cannot conceive

And maybe all this is wrong, i dunno - you be the judge
