The best way to know if your training is working is whether or not you're actually prepared for what you're training for.
If you're not actually feeling prepared for what you're training for — whether that's your sport, your life, or whatever it is that you're training for — if you're not actually feeling prepared for that in real life, in present time, like right now, then there's something that needs to be modified or adjusted.
It's totally fine if something needs to be modified or adjusted, but how prepared you feel is the direct feedback of how well you're preparing yourself.
