How To Change Your Position
Share
Something specific I noticed today as it relates to tissue you don’t feel you can activate
On the bench overcoming isos
Did 10 sets of 30 sec of em paired with the light bar RDC’s (rapid drop catches)
And what i noticed was basically two different ways i could do the overcoming ISOs
I mean many ways but this is what popped up today
Could either 1) just forget about any and everything and press into it as hard as possible
Or 2) be aware of how i was pressing - when this happened for me today i noticed that on my right side i was not able to get into an area in that scap region quite as well on that side - like the bigger lat and shoulder was taking over - so then made the adjustment to pull into that tissue and drive from there - then felt it have some activation i hadn’t noticed before
After each set shoulders feeling like they’re packed in tight, posture feeling immaculate, and just like able to walk or move from a powerful position
That’s the thing about correct or proper positioning
You’ll be able to do everything better when you’re there
Train, sport, life, etc
Cause that’s how your tissues are actually designed to be oriented
Like if I’m just pressing into the bar as hard as i can on those and shoulder is corkscrewed the wrong way, trap is going crazy, wrist are extended
Training myself to quite literally work in that non effective position
So then it comes down to if you want to move really well in your sport but not think about it
This is where we training
This stuff is so simple and we just hammer in over and over through very high levels of volume how your body needs to work
Becomes automatic after that when you’re out and about moving
If we break through enough of the garbage in the way
Gradient levels to that too - cause there’s always more to go
