How To Build Real Speed
Share
When we’re thinking about building speed we’re thinking pack as much output pop as we can into as little space as possible
Like if you think about a sprint or a jump, we’re thinking right before the foot comes down or the load into it happens, that tissue inside is packed in and pulled tight to allow that spring out of it to then occur
Like you’re winding that spring up - it’s tight so the rebound out is freaking poppy AND it’s resilient and not tough and cranky so it stays and does not break
This is the thought process behind pulling into position outside of just the slow lowers
Applied here to rebound reps
On the squat specifically, it’s pull up with the hip flexors, pull the knees into flexion with the hammies, pull your core in to be prepared to handle the load - all without any preload - just straight freaking aggressive into that
And then the rebound back up happens by itself as a natural response to the load or pull into it
Never really pop out of it tho, still stay in it
