Feed Forward Mechanism and Awareness

So on the first moves here, the single leg BB loaded wall sits, when i went into the first set, left leg was not feeling it
I’ve had some pain in that side in the past, and its generally weaker
Like when i do the single leg depth drops, the left side will normally be lower than the right, by 6-12 inches once up to max height
But today was interesting cause i was able to tap into something and actually get the full 30 sec on em, even tho at the start felt like i was gonna fail in the first 5 sec
Made me think of the feed forward control mechanism I’ve talked about a bit in the past, cause that’s what it felt like
Being able to predict what failures are going to happen in the future
And being able to adjust in real time right now so those don’t happen
So it was literally like feels like knee is going to give out here in 5 sec
My response to that, predicting that’s what was going to happen, was dig into the ground in a different way, literally like go deeper into the feeling i had in my chest, and take some attention that was elsewhere and put it fully into that move because to not do so would mean a fail
And in doing that, was able to get the full 30 sec

Makes me think of a different convo i was having a couple weeks back
Where we were talking about how to know whether something is good or bad for you (too much or too little)
And my response was basically
Just make sure it’s good for you
Like be so fully present and aware and on purpose, that you know what you’re doing
And that’s it
I think it’s something we’ve all had at some time
But over a period of losses and failures may lose to some degree
Doesn’t mean we can’t get it back
It’s basically just about making it go right
Just make sure it goes right
And yeah it might take more effort and energy and attention
But that’s what we’re after
Like actually try - actually pay attention - actually be willing to go into it
Been the most important part of training for me

If you’re worried about your knee breaking…
Just make sure it doesn’t.
