Move like this provides hyper awareness of what is wrong with you

Whether that be something physical - wrist getting tingly, anterior shoulder starting to hurt, lower back giving out

Something mental - talking down to yourself before you even start, making compromises on how long you’re willing to stay in it, thinking you’re a wimp in the first place and could never actually do it

Or some emotional cap - unwilling to actually care, unwilling to actually try, not wanting to go deep to see for yourself what you care about and what you actually want

So lets take this in an athletic sense

Let’s say your elbow hurts all the time

We put you in the position and it starts to hurt in the position. What that allows us to do is have you feel it in that position. The move is so simple you can start to make adjustments while in the position, given you don’t freak out about it and get in your own way

Like elbow starts to hurt, great - without coming out of the position, change so that it doesn’t. Make SOME adjustment that changes how your body feels

Because, physically - if unable to perform this move without the elbow sending feedback, there is something that isn’t clean there. Some pattern that’s off. Something that isn’t work as properly as it can

Bicep chronically short, anterior shoulder not able to lengthen, etc

These physical limitations that are holding on that are causing issues for you everywhere else

But through this work - if directed well, we learn how to handle those and we learn how to address them

Cause look

My best effort before this was 3 min with the +45

So this is technically a 2 min PR for me, when the goal is the press up at the end

All it took was me being willing to take each of those aspects mentioned above, in the 2nd part of this post - and slapping myself awake enough to realize i wanted to do it and that I COULD do it

That’s really the whole point here guys

It’s a decision

And that’s it

Decide.
