Adapted or Adaptable?

Adapted or Adaptable?

The best place you could put yourself in is being able to adapt yourself in real time to whatever you ask yourself to do

That does not mean specific preparation for every individual thing that you could encounter

It means a way of preparing where you learn to adapt to what you’re asked to face, no matter what that is

Literal practical example would be

You know how to use the back and pec relationship in an heavy overhead hold

In the same way you know how to use the back and pec relationship in a throw or a tennis serve

Or you know how to handle 300 rapid drop catch reps

In the same way you know how to handle the difficulty of sitting in class for 2 hours without having it negatively effect you

Cause the thing is, THERE IS NO WAY YOU CAN SPECIFICALLY PREPARE YOURSELF FOR EVERY LITTLE THING THAT COULD HAPPEN

If you’re trying to prepare yourself to throw, or you’re trying to prepare yourself to sprint

And there’s a very specific way those have to be done, otherwise you won’t be able to do it, then any little thing that goes off or wrong is going to lead to you not being able to do it

Example

The mound is a little different, or the playing turf doesn’t feel right, etc etc - small minor things that in the past you’ve felt throw you off

Well guess what

You train your system to be able to pick up and perceive and adapt quickly

And those things no longer become an issue

So quit preparing SO specifically that you can’t do anything else or are able to perform ONLY in perfect conditions
